General Guidelines For The Medalinks 247 News Annual Awards And Recognition Ceremonies

Notice is hereby given to the members of the public on the criteria for selection of the forthcoming award ceremony. At the extra-ordinary general meeting of the Board of Directors, it was resolved that the following criteria should be adopted for our award categories. 

Award Category: Medical and Rural Health Impact

Purpose:
To recognize individuals or organizations making exceptional contributions to improving health outcomes in rural or underserved communities.

Eligibility:

  • Open to individuals, NGOs, or healthcare providers active in rural areas for at least 12 months.
  • Must have initiated or managed a health-related program impacting rural communities.

The number of people served and reduction of healthcare access barriers.

 

Health Outcomes

Demonstrated improvements in health indicators (e.g., immunization, maternal health, disease control).

 

Community Engagement

Level of local involvement and trust in program delivery.

 

Sustainability

Long-term viability and scalability of the initiative.

 

Award Category: Excellence in Innovation & Telemedicine

Purpose:
To honor innovators using digital health tools to extend healthcare access, especially in remote or resource-limited areas.

Eligibility:

  • Open to individuals, startups, NGOs, or healthcare platforms.
  • Must have an active telemedicine initiative with measurable results.

Award Category: Outstanding Public Leadership

Purpose:
To recognize government officials, civil servants, or elected representatives who have shown visionary, ethical, and effective leadership.

Eligibility:

  • Must be an active or recently served public official at the sub-national or Federal Civil Service.
  • Contributions must have had a tangible public impact within the last 24 months or before retirement.

Use of new approaches to solve public challenges (e.g., tech, inclusive policy and e-governance).

 

Legacy or Replicability

Potential for model to be replicated in other settings.

 

Initial Review Committee (IRC)

 The IRC shall consist of five (5) professional individuals who have attained excellence and notable feats in their fields of endeavor. The 5- man IRC shall be responsible for the screening of applications into the different categories of awards contained in the guidelines. 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the criteria shall guide the decision of the award committee in deciding the outcome. The guidelines shall always be considered. This shall be done without prejudice to the ability of the Committee to consider other conditions and criteria that are incidental to any of the conditions contained in our guidelines.
