The re-elected Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, officially resumed office on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, following his swearing-in ceremony conducted by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

Speaking to a crowd of political stalwarts, staff, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, market leaders, and others at the council secretariat, Amb. Ogunsola emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration for the success of his administration.

“The time for election is over; now is the time for hard work and fulfilling the promises made during the campaign,” Ogunsola declared.

“I call on everyone to give this administration their maximum cooperation, dedication, and effort so we can achieve great strides together.”

He also expressed gratitude to the electorate and stakeholders for their support before, during, and after the election.

“Your efforts and support were pivotal to our success. I am deeply thankful and look forward to continuing our shared journey of progress and development,” he added.

In a brief management meeting with the chairman after his address, Ms. Olufunke Adeniji, Head of Administration for the local government, assured Ogunsola of the workforce’s dedication and loyalty.

She introduced heads of departments and directors present at the meeting, emphasizing the team’s readiness to align with his vision.

Mrs. Ogunyanwo Kemi, Director of General Services and Administration, reaffirmed the staff’s commitment to teamwork, a core ethic of civil service.

“We are prepared to support your leadership and ensure a harmonious working environment, even with the significant representation of women in key roles,” she noted, expressing optimism for a productive tenure.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including Hon. Sobukola Abiodun Kemi, Vice Chairman of the local government; Prince Segun Soneye, Director of Information, Education, and Sports; Mr. Kayode Alebiosu, Head of Agriculture and Natural Resources; and other officials.

Amb. Ogunsola’s administration seeks to build on past achievements and deliver on campaign promises with a focus on inclusive governance and community development.
