The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) headquarters was aglow yesterday as Chairmen-elect and Vice Chairmen-elect from the state’s 20 local government areas officially received their Certificates of Return.
Among the honorees were Hon. Dr. Folasade Adeyemo, Chairman-elect of Odeda Local Government, and her Vice Chairman-elect, Hon. Nasiru Yaya Adigun, who were joined by family members, party leaders, and jubilant supporters to mark the occasion.
In her address, Hon. Dr. Adeyemo expressed deep gratitude to Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, party stakeholders, and the people of Odeda for their unwavering support.
“This victory is not mine alone; it is a collective triumph of the people of Odeda. I am deeply grateful to His Excellency for his visionary leadership and to the residents of Odeda for entrusting me with their mandate,” she said.
Dr. Adeyemo lauded OGSIEC for its professionalism and integrity in conducting what she described as “a free, fair, and just election.”
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Chairmen, she commended the commission’s efforts, noting that the smooth process had set a standard for electoral transparency in the state.
“As we take on this responsibility, I assure our constituents that my team and I will deliver the dividends of democracy through good governance and grassroots development. We are committed to surpassing expectations and ensuring that the needs of our people remain our top priority,” Adeyemo added.
The celebratory event was attended by notable figures, including Engr. Jimoh Adefemi Adeyemo, Sheriff and Taiwo Adeyemo, Hon. Musulumi Saka, and Alhaji Mufutau Oguntola, alongside Councillors-elect and party members.
The lively atmosphere was enhanced by performances from local singers and drummers, adding a festive touch to the formal proceedings.
Hon. Nasiru Yaya Adigun, the Vice Chairman-elect, echoed Adeyemo’s sentiments, pledging to work diligently alongside her to bring about significant progress in Odeda Local Government.
