…“Uphold the Integrity of Your Mandate,” Chairman Urges Councillors

The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has officially inaugurated the 9th Legislative Council, urging councillors to prioritize the integrity of the mandate entrusted to them by their constituents.

The ceremony took place at the Dapo Abiodun Viewing Centre, Owode-Egba, amidst a gathering of dignitaries and stakeholders.

Addressing the councillors representing 12 wards across the council area, Amb. Ogunsola emphasized the collective goal of grassroots development and equitable service delivery.

“Your present positions demand responsiveness to the yearnings and aspirations of the people,” the chairman said.

“Let me advise that establishing an office in your wards where you engage with constituents will make you more accountable to the leaders and the people who elected you.”

Amb. Ogunsola reiterated his commitment to translating his administration’s vision of responsibility and progress for Obafemi Owode Local Government.

He called for unity among traditional rulers, community leaders, religious groups, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of his administration’s priority areas.

“Our mantra, as inspired by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s vision of ‘Building Our Future Together,’ emphasizes collective responsibility. Together, we shall address the needs of our people and build a legacy for future generations,” he stated.

The inaugurated councillors include:
Hon. Sodeinde Nurudeen Adio (Mokoloki Ward 1)
Hon. Comrade Olanrewaju Olasunkanmi (Ofada Ward 2)
Hon. Ajayi Adekunle Abdul Lateef (Owode Ward 3)
Hon. Durodola Sadiat (Ajura Ward 4)
Hon. Oloyede Akeem (Moloko Asipa Ward 5)
Hon. Saheed Ariyibi (Oba Ward 7)
Hon. Oludele Olusegun Kayode (Egbeda Ward 8)
Hon. Michael Akingbade (Kajola Ward 9)
Hon. Soetan Sabiu Oluwambe (Obafemi Ward 10)
Hon. Abiodun Olusanjo (Ajebo Ward 11)
Hon. Ogunronbi Sunday Femi (Alapako Oni Ward 12)

The event was graced by notable personalities, including Engr. Adesina Babatunde, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works; Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun; Hon. Emmanuel Sofela, Commissioner for Trade and Investments; Hon. Mrs. Nike Osoba, Commissioner II, Civil Service Commission; and Hon. Emmanuel Olude, APC Chairman for Obafemi Owode Local Government, among others.

As the council begins its tenure, Amb. Ogunsola expressed confidence in their capacity to fulfill their duties, stating, “Together, we will chart a course that benefits every ward and creates a model local government our people can be proud of.”
