Honourable Sulaimon Mujaidu Ajibola has expressed deep appreciation to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, CON, alongside political leaders and stakeholders in Obafemi Owode Local Government, following his appointment as Special Assistant to the Governor.
Ajibola, in an appreciation statement made available to journalists, described the appointment as a call to greater responsibility and service to the people of Ogun State.
The appointment, conveyed in a letter from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, stated that Governor Abiodun approved his appointment with effect from Tuesday, 5 May 2026.
Reacting to the development, Ajibola thanked the governor for what he described as immense confidence in his leadership potential, courage, loyalty and commitment to public service.
He said the appointment would further inspire him to contribute meaningfully to the developmental vision of the Ogun State Government and to uphold the values of purposeful leadership and responsible governance

Ajibola also specially appreciated Rt Honourable Tunji Egbetokun, Engr Akeem Babatunde Adesina and the Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunsola, FCPA, for their encouragement, guidance and unwavering support throughout his political journey.
According to him, their belief in his capacity, competence and readiness to serve has continued to strengthen his determination to deliver quality representation and impactful service to the people.
The newly appointed Special Assistant equally commended all the twelve ward chairmen in Obafemi Owode Local Government for their solidarity, loyalty and grassroots mobilisation, noting that their support reflected the unity and shared commitment of the party structure toward progressive leadership.
He further appreciated the entire political stakeholders across Obafemi Owode Local Government for standing firmly behind him and for consistently encouraging young and competent leaders to take up greater responsibilities in governance.
Ajibola noted that the trust reposed in him by party leaders and stakeholders would not be taken for granted, assuring that he remains fully prepared for the responsibilities attached to the office.
He stated that the appointment was not only a recognition of loyalty and dedication but also a challenge to justify the confidence placed in him through hard work, humility and effective service delivery.
The politician stressed that he possesses the leadership capacity, courage, competence and administrative readiness required to excel in the role, adding that he would remain committed to advancing policies and programmes that would positively impact residents of Ogun State.
Ajibola further assured party faithful and residents of Obafemi Owode Local Government that he would continue to uphold the principles of inclusiveness, accountability and grassroots engagement in the discharge of his duties.
He pledged to work harmoniously with government officials, political leaders and community stakeholders to ensure that the people continue to enjoy meaningful dividends of democracy under the administration of Governor Abiodun.
