Engr. Babatunde Akeem Adesina, FNSE, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Public Works and Odofin of Imo Land, has congratulated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, on his inauguration as Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas.
In a congratulatory message, Adesina described the new responsibility as a worthy recognition of the Alake’s leadership, wisdom, experience and commitment to peace, unity and development in Ogun State.
He said the monarch’s emergence was not only an honour for the revered traditional institution of Egbaland but also a source of pride for the people of the kingdom and Ogun State at large.
According to him, the confidence reposed in the Alake reflects the respect he has earned among traditional rulers and residents across the state.
Adesina said the monarch’s experience and disposition towards peaceful coexistence had positioned him to effectively lead the state’s council of traditional rulers.
“As Odofin of Imo Land, I am particularly delighted to join the sons and daughters of Egbaland and the good people of Ogun State in celebrating this historic occasion,” he said.
He noted that the Alake had consistently demonstrated the relevance of the traditional institution as a pillar of peace, cultural preservation, community development and social harmony.
Adesina expressed confidence that the Alake’s leadership of the Ogun State Council of Obas would strengthen cooperation and mutual respect among traditional institutions across the state.
He added that the council, under the monarch’s leadership, could contribute meaningfully to peaceful and sustainable development by promoting unity and fostering constructive relationships among communities and traditional rulers.
The Special Adviser further prayed for wisdom, sound health, strength and divine guidance for the Alake as he assumes the additional responsibility.
He also expressed hope that the monarch’s tenure as chairman would bring greater harmony, understanding and progress to Ogun State.
“Congratulations, Kabiyesi. May your reign continue to be long, peaceful and prosperous,” Adesina said.
