The immediate past chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folashade Adeyemo, has successfully undergone her screening ahead of the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for November 16.
Adeyemo, along with other chairmanship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was screened at the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) headquarters in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Speaking with journalists after the screening, Adeyemo expressed confidence in her chances of securing a second term, citing her previous achievements as a strong foundation for her reelection bid.
She highlighted her developmental strides during her first term, noting that her performance would compel the electorate to support her again.
“I have been screened today by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC, as one of the chairmanship candidates in the state. I want to tell you that the process was fine, and I have passed the screening,” Adeyemo said.
She emphasized her confidence in winning the polls, stating that her work in key areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, social amenities, security, and health had left a lasting impact on the local community, particularly in rural areas.
“I had performed beyond my people’s expectations, especially the people in the rural areas. I performed in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, social amenities, security, health, and many others, and with all these I have done, I am very sure that my people will cast their votes for me and I will emerge the winner of the election,” she asserted.
Adeyemo also commended OGSIEC for conducting a smooth and transparent screening process, expressing her satisfaction with the electoral body’s commitment to ensuring a credible election.
As the election date approaches, Adeyemo remains hopeful that her achievements during her first term will secure her another opportunity to serve the people of Odeda Local Government.
