The Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, PhD, has expressed appreciation to party leaders, members, and supporters for their unwavering loyalty and contributions to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 16, 2024, local government elections. She made this known during a gathering at her Somorin Obantoko residence on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
The event was attended by key political figures, including the Odeda Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Musulumi Saka; APC Secretary, Alhaji Olajide Mufutau; and Chief Whip of the Odeda Legislative Council, Hon. Kazeem Kolawole Tiamiyu. Also present were former local government officials, party elders, and representatives of various support groups.
Hon. Musulumi Saka commended party members for their dedication, noting that their efforts were instrumental in securing victory for the APC. Dr. Adeyemo, in her remarks, expressed gratitude to God and the party’s leadership for their continuous support. She praised the resilience of her supporters and urged them to remain committed to the party’s principles.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Adeyemo presented packages to her supporters, reinforcing her commitment to their welfare. Dignitaries at the event lauded her leadership style, describing her as a model of inclusive governance.
The immediate past Commissioner III at the Teaching Service Commission, Hon. Olanrewaju Majekodunmi, represented by Hon. Kazeem Kolawole Tiamiyu, reaffirmed support for Dr. Adeyemo’s administration, pledging continued cooperation. Similarly, Supervisor-designate Hon. Ahmed Amoje expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him and vowed to contribute meaningfully to governance.
The event coincided with International Women’s Day, during which Dr. Adeyemo paid tribute to the achievements of women in leadership. She acknowledged the contributions of prominent figures such as Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, in championing women’s empowerment.
As the first female Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government and the first to secure a consecutive re-election, Dr. Adeyemo reaffirmed her commitment to advancing gender equality and creating opportunities for women. She urged women to continue striving for excellence and to support each other in leadership and development efforts.
She expressed hope for a future where more women take on leadership roles, pledging to sustain initiatives that promote the well-being and success of women in Odeda Local Government and beyond.
