Another road accident involving a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) truck and a coal truck occurred on Friday morning near the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, Ogun State, causing traffic disruptions and heightened tension in the area.
The crash resulted in a major coal spillage, particularly at the entrance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office, where at least five men were seen extracting spilled coal from the middle of the road.
At the time of filing this report, efforts to confirm casualties had been unsuccessful, as the atmosphere remained tense.
Security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force and the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), were on the ground working to restore order.
Due to the accident, commuters, cabs, and buses were diverted to a single lane to avert further danger.
This incident comes barely two days after a similar crash involving 16 persons in the state.
