Abeokuta South Local Government Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Sunday Akamo, has expressed his gratitude to the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their unwavering support during his campaign for the party’s ticket.
Despite not securing the nomination, Akamo has vowed to fully support the APC’s chosen candidate in the upcoming November 16 Chairmanship election.
In a statement following the party’s primary, Akamo accepted the outcome with grace and assured his loyalty to the APC remains steadfast.
“I wholeheartedly accept the results of the primary and will stand by our party’s candidate to ensure victory in the upcoming election. My commitment to the party is unshakeable, and together we will work towards success,” he said.
Akamo extended his heartfelt appreciation to several key figures within the party, including Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for their leadership and guidance throughout the process.
He also thanked other prominent APC leaders such as Dr. Femi Majekodumi, Chief Sunday Sowunmi, Henry Fagbenro (APC Chairman), Aare Remi Bakare, and Hon. Tajudeen Egunjobi, the Special Adviser on Housing.
The aspirant expressed deep gratitude to Chief Mrs. Oluwakemi Abeke Oloyede, the Iyaloja of Egbaland, Sheik Iskeel Lawal Sugar, the Wakeelul Muslimeen of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta, as well as Dr. Ade Abolurin, the former Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for their unwavering support during his consultations.
Furthermore, Akamo recognized the backing of Hon. Mojeed Adegunle, State Chairman of the Dapo Abiodun Traders Association (DATA), along with his executives and members.
He also acknowledged his media team, led by Gbenga Shobowale (Lodindi), and his numerous supporters in Abeokuta South.
Akamo’s pledge to support the APC candidate underlines his dedication to ensuring the party’s success in the upcoming local government elections.
