… Police, Civil Defence Renew Intelligence Sharing, Joint Operations
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has paid a historic courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in a move aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration.
During the visit, Disu said the engagement was a deliberate effort to deepen cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and the NSCDC in tackling evolving security challenges across the country.
Addressing the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and senior officers, the IGP stressed the need for intelligence sharing and unified operations.
“We must encourage one another as we confront contemporary security challenges. We often fight difficult battles in demanding terrains; therefore, we must share intelligence and operate as a unified front to achieve lasting peace,” he said.
In his response, Audi reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to sustained synergy with the police, noting the Corps’ long-standing partnership with the force.
He emphasised that collaboration, cooperation and coordination remain critical to effective security delivery, urging citizens to adopt a proactive approach by supporting intelligence gathering efforts.
The visit featured exchange of souvenirs and a joint photograph session with senior officials, including the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, and the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid.
