In celebration of the 2024 International Peace Day, Hon. Dr. Folasade Adeyemo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Odeda Local Government in Ogun State, has reaffirmed her commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence within the community.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Adeyemo emphasized the importance of peace as the cornerstone of development and progress, both in the local government and the nation at large.
“Today, as we join the rest of the world to celebrate International Peace Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of peace in our community and our nation. Peace is the foundation upon which progress, unity, and development are built,” she stated.
Dr. Adeyemo acknowledged the growth and harmony Odeda Local Government has enjoyed over the years, attributing it to the collective efforts of residents working together despite their differences.
“Our local government has seen remarkable growth, not just because of infrastructure or social programs, but because we have worked together in harmony, embracing our diversity as our strength,” she added.
As the APC candidate for the upcoming chairmanship election, Dr. Adeyemo pledged to prioritize peace-building initiatives that would ensure lasting stability and progress in the area.
“If elected as your Chairperson, I vow to prioritize peace-building initiatives that will bring lasting stability and progress to every ward, every home, and every individual,” she promised.
Encouraging citizens to continue fostering peace in their daily lives, she urged, “Let us teach our children the values of love, tolerance, and respect for one another. It is through peace that we can create the future we all desire—one where every citizen thrives in an atmosphere of safety, opportunity, and shared prosperity.”
Dr. Adeyemo concluded by appealing to the electorate to vote for peace and progress, stating, “Your vote for me is a vote for peace, and I promise to continue to lead with integrity, ensuring that peace remains the backbone of all our achievements.”
