
The Editor of Platform Times Newspaper, Mr. Daud Olatunji, was honored with a prestigious Award of Recognition at the 2025 Adire Cultural Festival held at the Kemta Adire Market in Abeokuta.
The award celebrates Olatunji’s remarkable contributions to journalism and his unwavering efforts to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Adire community.
Speaking at the event, organizers of the festival commended the editor for using his platform to highlight the significance of Nigerian traditions, particularly Adire, a renowned hand-dyed textile art unique to Abeokuta.
“Olatunji has consistently showcased the beauty and history of the Adire craft through his journalistic excellence. His work has brought global attention to our culture,” said one of the organizers during the presentation.
In his acceptance speech, Olatunji expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to preserving and promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
“This award is not just for me but for every journalist dedicated to telling the untold stories of our heritage. Adire represents resilience, creativity, and our identity as Nigerians, and I am honored to contribute to its promotion,” he stated.
