The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as “Portable,” wanted over his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials. A valid court order has been issued for his immediate arrest and presentation at any police station.
According to a police statement released on Monday, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at about 10:00 am when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. The officials, identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar while inspecting a building plan approval.
Shortly after, Portable allegedly stormed the scene with nine armed thugs, wielding a firearm and other dangerous weapons, and launched a brutal assault on the officials. The victims sustained bodily injuries before managing to escape and report the attack to the Ota Area Command, which subsequently referred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
While nine of Portable’s accomplices have been arrested, the singer reportedly fled and has since ignored multiple police invitations to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Following his repeated evasion, the police have secured a court order officially declaring him wanted. The command is urging the public to provide any relevant information that could lead to his arrest, warning that anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspect will face legal action.
For any leads, the public is advised to report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command’s official communication channels.
