President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the re-appointment of Dr. Afis Akanni Agboola as Provost and Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, securing him a second and final four-year term.
The re-appointment, effective from July 27, 2024, was conveyed in a letter dated October 24, 2024, by the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa.
Commending Dr. Agboola’s leadership and impact in his first tenure, Dr. Alausa noted the strides made under Agboola’s direction in advancing mental health care delivery at the institution.
“Your achievements have set a high standard, and we trust that you will build on this foundation, continuing to provide quality health care to those in need,” Alausa remarked.
According to a statement from the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Ajibola Joseph Oluwatoyin Abiola, Dr. Agboola’s first term was marked by “monumental achievements,” underscoring his dedication to excellence in mental health care services.
Dr. Agboola’s continued leadership is expected to enhance patient care and solidify Aro’s reputation as a premier mental health institution.
