President Bola Tinubu has approved the restructuring of the State House media and communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery. This move is part of his broader strategy to streamline government operations, promote economic growth, and ensure the delivery of key services to Nigerians.
The restructuring includes the re-designation of two recently appointed officials: Sunday Dare, now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications, and Daniel Bwala, now Special Adviser, Policy Communication. Bayo Onanuga remains Special Adviser, Information and Strategy.
Notably, there will be no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency. Instead, the three Special Advisers – Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Bayo Onanuga – will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government. This collaborative approach aims to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements.
President Tinubu’s administration has consistently demonstrated its commitment to effective communication. Recently, the President reaffirmed his dedication to upholding media freedom and respecting diverse opinions.
The revamp of the State House media and communications team underscores President Tinubu’s focus on enhancing the government’s communication machinery. With this collective approach, the administration is poised to effectively convey its policies and decisions to the public.
The team also comprises experienced professionals, including Fela Durotoye, Fredrick Nwabufo, Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe, and Aliyu Audu, who bring expertise in various fields, ensuring a well-rounded communication strategy.
This strategic restructuring is expected to foster a more cohesive and responsive government, ultimately benefiting the Nigerian people.
