…Tributes pour in for infrastructure icon at Abeokuta Sports Club

The Abeokuta Sports Club was aglow with celebrations on Saturday as dignitaries, government officials, and well-wishers gathered to honour Engineer Babatunde Akeem Adesina, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Works and Infrastructure, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
Leading the array of distinguished guests was Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, who delivered a heartfelt tribute lauding Engineer Adesina’s decades of outstanding service to Ogun State and Nigeria.
In his remarks, Senator Salisu described the celebrant as “a man of impeccable character whose impact extends across multiple spheres of governance and community development.”

He commended Engineer Adesina’s contributions to infrastructure development and leadership mentorship, noting that his legacy of excellence continues to inspire across generations.
The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, was also present, alongside other high-profile guests including Hon. Olumide Osoba, member of the House of Representatives for Abeokuta North, Obafemi-Owode, and Odeda Federal Constituency; Hon. Afolabi Afuape, representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency; the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure; the Commissioner for Transportation; Dr. Folashade Adeyemo, PhD; and the Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. Faruk Akintunde.
Others in attendance included the Special Adviser to the Governor on OGEPA, six local government party chairmen, and youth leaders from across the Ogun Central Senatorial District.
The ceremony, blending official recognition with warm personal tributes, featured goodwill messages from associates, protégés, and beneficiaries of Engineer Adesina’s leadership across various sectors.
Speakers unanimously acknowledged his pivotal role in shaping Ogun State’s development trajectory.
Senator Salisu rounded off his tribute by presenting a commemorative gift to the celebrant, accompanied by prayers for continued good health and enduring service to the people of Ogun State.
